Barcelona zoo can be found in the Ciudatella Park was opened in 1892 and has become a firm fixture among Barcelona’s family attractions. Barcelona Zoo Opening Times and Information

Barcelona Zoo is open in winter from 10:30 until 16:30 in the summer months the closing time will be up to 20:00 in July and August. Admission for 2023 is €21,40 for adults, €12,95 for children aged 3 to 12. Children under the age of 3 years old can enter the zoo free of charge. The zoo also has yearly season passes for people that live in Barcelona or nearby.

Barcelona Zoo has ample restaurants and snack bars within the complex. There are also lockers for storing bags and valuables. The zoo also has information points, picnic areas, children’s play areas and gift shops. The whole zoos facilitates are adapted for people with reduced mobility. There is also a free wheelchair loan service for visitors that may need assistance during their visit.

What Else Can Be Visited At The Same Time As The Zoo?

The central position of Barcelona Zoo, and the fact that it would take a few hours to visit, means you will have time to do other things. Since the zoo is situated inside Ciutadella Park, it makes sense to explore the park before or after visiting the zoo. Also, a few minutes walk from the Zoo and Ciudatella Park is the Arc de Triomf monument, also a must-visit landmark.

In the neighborhood El Born, adjoining the zoo and Ciutadella Park has The Chocolate Museum and the Picasso Museum, both worth a visit. You could also opt to visit the Gothic Quarter, about 20 minutes walk from the zoo. A bit further is the Barcelona Aquarium in the Port Vell district of the city. You can purchase combo tickets for both the zoo and the aquarium, this will save a bit of money compared to buying the tickets individually.

How To Get To Barcelona Zoo

Barcelona Zoo is in the Ciutadella Park in the heart of Barcelona City. The closest metro and tram station is Ciutadella Vila Olympic. You can also arrive at the Arc de Triomf metro or RENFE station and walk down. The main line RENFE station Estació de França is a few minutes walk from the zoo. If you prefer to arrive by bus you can come by the following bus numbers D20, H14, H16, V21 and V27. If you want to burn off the calories and arrive at foot, the zoo is about 10–15 minutes walk from the Gothic Quarter and La Rambla.
