Antoni Tapies was a Catalan artist and sculptor, born 13th December 1923 in Barcelona. After studying law for 3 years, Tapies was drawn to a career as an artist and was devoted to this from 1943 until his death. Tapies art, like most artists, developed and changed through the years, brining new ways for an artist to express himself.

How to get to Antoni Tapies Museum Barcelona

The museum is on the Carrer d’Aragó 255 in the L’Eixample district of Barcelona, close to other such modernist buildings by the likes of Antonï Gaudí. A minute from the Passeig de Gràcia train and metro stations served by lines 2, 3 and 4. You can also arrive here by bus with the following bus routes 7, 22, 24, 39, 47, 63, and 67. Also, B24, H10, V15 and V17.

If you are staying in the center of Barcelona, the Antoni Tapies Museum is about 10 minutes walk from the Plaça Catalyuna. If you are staying further down La Rambla or within the Gothic Quarter, about 20 minutes walk.
