Who is Pablo Picasso?

One of Spains greatest artists, Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga on the 25th October 1881. Picasso’s father (José Ruiz Blasco) was a painter and art teacher who helped guide his son who was already showing artistic promise from a very young age. Picasso pionered the cubism movement along with George Braque and a few other artista. The movement became exceptionally popular during the early 20th century. It is considered one of the most influential art movements of the 20th century. Some of Picasso’s earlier works divided opionions and also even deemed inmoral such as Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (1907). Picasso has become known as one of the influential arists of the 20th century. He is also one of few who achieved huge fame and fortune whilst still alive.

Pablo Picasso didn’t sell all his painting and personally kept a huge private collection of his artworks. Many of these paintings and sculptures are exclusive to the Pablo Picasso Museum of Barcelona. The museum opened in 1963 in Barcelona. At the time the only museum exhibiting works approved and coordinated by the artist himself is the Picasso museum. The main exhibition rooms within the museum contain over 4250 collections of art, sculptures, and other earlier rarities. Pablo Picasso museum Barcelona is home to two of his first major works. How to get to the Pablo Picasso mueum Barcelona

The Picasso museum can be visited in Carrer Montcada 15 – 23 in the El Born district of Barcelona. The nearest metro is Juame I, line 4. You can get a bus to the Via Laietana with numbers 45, 120, V15 and V17. Admission price for The Pablo Picasso Museum Barcelona for 2023, is just 13 euros if paid at the ticket of the museum. If you buy tickets online they are only 12 euros. These prices are valid during 2023.
